Lollar Special T Series® Tele Bridge Pickup

This is literally my favorite bridge pickup I’ve ever played on any guitar, Strat, LP, and many many others. ~60 year pro player

I put the set of Specials in a Player Telecaster which actually had decent sound, but this is a whole other level of sound. They are great and they are super versatile. I can get some fuzz by rolling off the tone or bright and spanky clean by rolling it up. The overtones and harmonics are rich and full, and I love the neck and bridge sounds, but put them both on and thats where I like to be. Great. There is really no way you can go wrong with pickups made this well, they are going to sound great!

My friend a while back had told me about Lollar and how incredible his pickups are. I am primarily a ‘metal’ guitarist. After playing for years with active pickups and all other sorts of high gain equipment, I was looking to venture out into the world of lower gain sounds and have a more versatile guitar. I ended up buying an ash fender tele as i have wanted one for years. The stock pups didnt do it for me. My same friend had advised Lollars for my Tele. I listened to the sound clips and felt the ‘special’ bridge would be the pickup for me. I had it installed…………… First thing i would like to say is that this pickup is so fat, that an untrained ear could easily mistake it for a humbucker. The mids are lush and not robust or overpowering as with other hand wound pickups. A very even tone spectrum is backed with beautiful warmth that i have never heard in a pickup. I have pushed loads of gain through this pickup (which was not my intention originally) And the result is a warm non-gritty, but super saturated distortion, with tele twang. It has not only become my best sounding guitar, but my favorite metal guitar. Go figure.

This pickup has a nice and full sound. It perfectly mellowed out the harsh top end I was getting. I used to always have some sort of pedal on to fill out my sound. Turns out all I needed was Lollar in my life. I’ve tried other pickups and will be using Lollars from here on out. Thanks for the great product.
