Lollar® Mini Broiler Pickup Set – Soapbar Ring – Nickel

Added one of these beauties to the bridge of my SG.

I just installed these on a 1965 Gibson Non Reverse Firebird. My expectations were exceeded. Superb clarity and tone. Thunderous bass. Searing highs and wonderful harmonic overtones and undertones. I used the 50’s 2v 2t wiring in the instructions. I couldn’t be happier. Thanks!

I got this guitar specifically to upgrade. After I installed the Bigsby B5 unit via a Vibramate kit, and a roller bridge, I put a set of Minibroilers in. They sound great; crystal clear when I want, and as crunchy, as needed. Installation was relatively easy; drop-in for soapbar P90s.

It is exactly what I wanted. I bought a reclaimed PRS Vela and the stock neck just wasn’t doing it for me. I had already replaced the bridge with a TV jones type and was pretty happy. I wanted “jangle” and this delivers…seriously. I think with the combo I have now, the Vela is officially my most versatile guitar. The mini humbucker size dropped right in and with a little solder I was playing literally an hour after I opened the mailbox. Oh and KUDOS for customer service they contacted me out of the gate to make a correction on my order that I didn’t know I needed! Love this pickup, Love these guys!

I wasn’t sure about this pickup at first, I mean – I was looking for something like a vintage toaster top in sound for my tele XII but it seems no one made anything comparable. I was wrong. The Mini-Broiler sounds amazing. When compared to my Ric330/12 with toasters this had so much more depth and chime than the ‘backer. Really wasn’t sure what to expect and the $150 per pickup was a bit much for an experiment but I’m so glad I did. Now to change out the bridge with a matching Broiler to complete the setup. I have a mandoguitar as well, I can see this being fantastic in that instrument. Such a unique pickup and balanced across all strings. Dare I say I like it better than the toasters? I dare!
